THE KEY

TODAY'S QUOTE:
So often time it happens, we all live our life in chains, and we never even know we have the key. - The Eagles

This lyric is scary true. Fact is even after we become aware of the key, using it is not as effortless as one might imagine. Fear of what may be lurking outside... exhaustion from dealing with way too much inside of the orbit that we already inhabit... dread of facing any issues that may suddenly demand coping skills that are already spread paper thin. The knowledge that once the door swings open, closing it again may be impossible inspires trembling fingers that instantly alter excitement into panic. Fear can instantly transform a tiny mole hill into a mighty mountain, stopping all forward motion if you give it control.

A key in the hand of someone that is panic driven or needlessly hysterical will rarely see the inside of a lock. More than likely it will land on the floor several times on the way toward the back of a deep drawer or the top of a dusty shelf. One negative emotion can be totally overwhelming with just a bit of even the most unintentional encouragement, but too often that is the one we feed the most.

When people panic they look for any reason to stay safe in a predictable place, and the reasons are endless. In the long run they simply become handy excuses for refusing change; resolve one and another is quick to take its place. Fighting past all the debris may bring us to a place of perfect peace, but finding the energy is difficult enough to encourage a large majority of us to collapse. Door is buried... key is squirreled away... and we lay somewhere directly between the problem and its solution. We all wrestle with something; win, lose, or draw the struggle is real. Try to be certain that the thing we struggle the hardest with is not ourselves. Keep doorways clear... do not hide the key way over yonder; slip it in a pocket so that after you calm your negative vibrations that sweet freedom will be your hard-won reward. Think about it... let it ride... then decide!!!
