TODAY'S QUOTE:
"Life is made up of small pleasures. Happiness is made up of those tiny successes. The big ones come too infrequently. And if you don't collect all these tiny successes, the big ones don't really mean anything.".... Norman Lear
When a person finds joy in the little things life becomes quite magical. There is no need for the constant race for the brass ring when golden nuggets lay scattered everywhere. Delight felt at small pleasures only makes the big ones all the more treasured. It is a child-like quality, but there is nothing childish about being awed by the world and all its treasures, both big and small.
God did an excellent job. I look around at the landscape and feel honored to be here. Sometimes it is hard to find the beauty inside of humans, but it is there in all of us in some fashion. If we would look more closely at one another then maybe it would be easier. You can stare at a sunset or a butterfly for however long it lingers within eye-shot. But if you stare at a human too long you invite a black eye. We just don't make as much eye contact as we ought, life is too fast paced for long lingering glances... unless we slow its rotation.
Decreases in speed are hard to make without feeling as if you are suddenly in an altered dimension, separated from the rest of humanity. But, who are we racing? Each other? Ourselves? Who's gonna judge the winner? The losers will be easy to point out. They will be on riverbank, and seashore. They will be strolling shaded forests paths and bench sitting in quiet gardens. They will be the ones gently smiling or giggling out a merry symphony.
I will be with them. The only way to find the joy in simple things is to get acquainted with some. A sunbeam can make your heart soar. A rainbow can take your breath away. Did you know that? I bet most who read here know it well, at least that is my hope.
If you want to race... trot on by me, please. In life is it really a good thing to get to the finish line first? Read that again realllll slowwwww.... and then.... as always.... think about it.... let it ride.... then YOU decide!!!!
