TODAY'S QUOTE:
"Learn how to separate the majors and the minors. A lot of people don't do well simply because they major in minor things.".... Jim Rohn
We all know people who take a grain of sand and erect a lofty mountain peak. Funny thing is they never seem to be climbers by either nature or design. Their current situation is always of utmost importance, no matter what anyone else is suffering through. They are prone to minding everyone else's business, placing the greatest importance in idle gossip, which they embellish then testify as fact.
Every little thing is an emergency with some... drama is their claim to fame. Peter was not the only one who ever cried wolf and earned deaf ears from its over-practice. The moral of that childhood tale is totally wasted upon the ones who by nature or design seem determined to live their entire lives traveling at the speed of panic. I avoid them like the plague, knowing better than to attempt to change their pace and unwilling to allow them to alter my own.
I have better things to do with my life than dwell on invented drama or manufactured gossip. Small thoughts crowd out the loftier ones that have a chance of inspiring actions outside of the norm. Nothing worthy in life is erected using inferior material as its base. Nobody is helped by petty slander, and negative thoughts poison any positive they touch. We have the ability to alter our pattern of thinking. We possess the power to silence our tongue. Simply keeping our lips together should be practiced when whatever we are about to say has no real merit to uplift or encourage.
Positive thoughts naturally inspire positive actions. Positive actions always inspire positive results. And it all begins inside the mind with what we allow it to linger upon. I am not so naive as to imagine that no negative will ever attempt entrance, but if the doorman has stern instructions to escort them out the moment they appear there is no time for any damage to be done.
Awareness is not an automatic thing; realizing how our mind works takes conscious attention to detail. A brain left to its own devices is often much more devious than we even imagine. Take some time to pay attention to the direction of your thoughts then redirect the ones that are unworthy of renting any space there. And as always... think about it... let it ride... then decide!!!
